Before finding a potential retail location for Aurora Café and Bakery, owners Javier and Kerianne created an LLC in 2021 to begin testing the market for wholesale pan dulce.
If you’re not familiar, pan dulce literally means “sweet bread.” They are a beautiful and delicious Mexican pastry, dusted with the iconic streusel-like topping.
After creating the LLC, Javier and Kerianne created a wholesale name, Pan de Javi, created a logo, acquired stickers, packaging, ingredient labels and a rented kitchen space to start baking.
Two local businesses bought and sold conchas from Pan de Javi: Taco Naco KC and Café Corazon. The demand for the conchas was high, and customer feedback was positive.
Taco Naco KC and Café Corazon have both stated their intentions of restarting their wholesale accounts with Aurora soon, but you can pick up one of our tasty treats any time during our operating hours!
